Stereochem guides
Learn to draw molecules in 2D and 3D, build structures from SMILES, create reaction schemes, and import or export chemical files.
Stereochem is a browser-based molecular editor for structure drawing, 3D inspection, and reaction schemes. Use these guides to complete a task in the editor.
Draw and edit molecules
Sketch in 2D, inspect in 3D, optimize geometry, and export your work.
Build from SMILES
Turn a SMILES string into a 3D model and check the result.
Create reaction schemes
Place reactants and products, add conditions, and save an editable sheet.
Use chemical file formats
Import SMILES, MOL, SDF, XYZ, PDB, CML, and CJSON; export files or images.
Start with the editor
Open the Molecule workspace or Reactions workspace directly, then switch between them from the top bar. The molecule workspace has 2D and 3D views. If the canvas is empty, you can draw an atom, load the caffeine sample, import a structure, or fetch a compound by name from PubChem.
Stereochem is an independent web application built on the open-source Avogadro chemistry libraries. It is not an official Avogadro release and is not endorsed by the Avogadro project or its contributors. Licence and force-field details are available under About & licences in the editor.
